On 29 September 2026, a delegation of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) is paying a working visit to the headquarters of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The programme is organised in cooperation with the ILO Bureau for Workers’ Activities (ACTRAV) and aims to deepen participants’ knowledge of the ILO’s work, international labour standards, and the mechanisms through which trade union organisations can use ILO instruments to defend workers’ rights and interests.

The discussions cover ACTRAV’s priorities, the ILO’s mission and structure, the outcomes of the 114th Session of the International Labour Conference, as well as the current challenges facing the trade union movement.

A dedicated part of the programme focuses on trade union communication in crisis situations, as well as the ILO supervisory system and the application of international labour standards.

Participants are also discussing recent developments in occupational safety and health (OSH), including the new Convention on biological hazards in the working environment and the ILO’s policy on occupational safety and health.

Meetings with ACTRAV representatives provide the trade union delegation from the Republic of Moldova with an opportunity to examine international experience and ILO mechanisms that can be applied to national trade union activities, social dialogue, and the promotion of decent and safe working conditions.
