On April 23, Igor Zubcu, President of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM), met with Séamus Boland, President of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), at the premises of the European Union (EU) Delegation to the Republic of Moldova. Representatives of employers, civil society, and EESC members also took part in the meeting.
The agenda of the discussions focused on public consultations in the process of transposing the EU acquis, the quality of social dialogue, and the measures needed to ensure Moldova’s legislative alignment with European standards.
Key topics addressed included:
- the need for early, genuine, and inclusive public consultations;
- strengthening a functional social dialogue based on trust and partnership;
- challenges arising from the accelerated pace of legislative alignment;
- ensuring the quality, clarity, and practical applicability of regulations.
CNSM reaffirms that social dialogue remains a strategic priority, serving as a fundamental pillar for achieving European integration objectives and building a modern and competitive economy.
It should be noted that the European Economic and Social Committee is an EU advisory body representing employers, workers, and other interest groups, acting as a bridge between EU decision-making institutions and European citizens.
