On 3 June, the Vocational School in Hîncești district hosted the closing event of the Local Employment Partnership (LEP) – an innovative model of collaboration to stimulate local employment. The event was also attended by the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM), as an active social partner involved throughout the implementation of the initiative.
LEP Hîncești was carried out for almost a year, with the support of the International Labour Organization (ILO), as part of the project ‘Inclusive and productive employment in Moldova’, funded by SECO (Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs).
The event brought together representatives of central and local public administration, educational institutions, the business community, international organizations and civil society.
The CNSM contributed to promoting employees’ rights, strengthening social dialogue and identifying sustainable solutions for the employment of young people and vulnerable groups. The participation of trade unions aimed to support local employment policies and create an environment conducive to decent work.
The results of the LEP Hîncești include:
- over 750 inactive young people connected to employment services,
- 300 jobs created and formalized,
- support for 60 small businesses and 11 start-ups in various fields,
- an agricultural cooperative equipped with modern equipment,
- 1,100 people directly supported in the process of employment or professional development.
The event ended with a Job Fair, which gave locals the opportunity to interact directly with employers and access new employment opportunities.
Between 2018 and 2025, with the support of the ILO, seven Local Employment Partnerships were implemented in the Republic of Moldova, in the districts of Cahul, Cantemir, Căușeni, Soroca, Rezina, Florești and Hîncești.
