Last week, during the working visit of members of the Confederal Committee of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) to Albania, Moldovan trade unionists visited the headquarters of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Albania (KSSH).
During the talks, Kol Nikollaj, President of the KSSH, familiarised the members of the Confederal Committee of the CNSM with the economic and social situation in Albania, as well as the efforts of Albanian trade unionists in relation to the integration processes in the European Union.
Igor Zubcu, President of the CNSM, informed about the activity of the trade union movement in the Republic of Moldova, the activities that are in the foreground, the development of social dialogue at national and territorial level, the process of consultations and collective negotiations, and the demands of trade union organisations from different sectors.
Igor Zubcu, as President of the Pan-European Regional Council of the International Trade Union Confederation (PERC), also appreciated the active contribution of KSSH within the PERC structures.
The participants in the discussion exchanged views on the activities of the trade union movement in the two countries, the problems faced by trade unionists from different sectors, the process of ratification and implementation of the International Labour Organisation Conventions, the involvement of trade union organisations in various campaigns promoted by the trade union movement at the international level, and stressed the importance of exchanging experiences and adopting good practices in trade union work.
We recall that in March, Kol Nikollaj, President of KSSH, had a meeting with Igor Zubcu, President of CNSM, in the Republic of Moldova, where the work and priorities of the two national trade union centres were discussed, as well as the prospects for developing cooperation in various areas of common interest.
We note that the Confederation of Trade Unions of Albania has more than 110 thousand trade union members. KSSH is a member of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC).
