During the 5th General Assembly of the Pan-European Regional Council (PERC) of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) held today, on 5 December 2023, in Brussels (Belgium), Mr Igor Zubcu, President of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) has been elected as President of PERC.

This is the first time that a President of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova has been elected to this position, as the CNSM has been a member of the ITUC since 2010.

The Pan-European Regional Council of the International Trade Union Confederation was created in 2007 to strengthen the work of ITUC members in the region, as well as to address various issues specific to the countries of Europe and Central Asia.

The ITUC brings together 331 national trade union centres in 163 countries and regions, with a total membership of around 200 million.
