On Thursday, January 30, 2025, the members of the Confederal Committee of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) held their regular meeting to discuss several socio-economic issues of importance.

Thus, the trade unionists approved the organization of the National Trade Union Forum “Social Synergy,” which will be organized by CNSM on March 28, 2025. More information about the forum, the venue, the topics to be addressed, the participants, and the event agenda will be provided on the CNSM website.

During the meeting, the trade unionists agreed to declare 2025 as the Year of the Public Servant and Public Servants with Special Status in the public sector, and in the real sector – the Year of Workers in the Railway Branch and the Energy Sector, in order to highlight the issues faced by workers in these industries and identify solutions.

The CNSM Activity Plan for the first semester of 2025 was approved, which outlines a series of activities to be carried out during the reference period. Also, the CNSM Training and Research Plan for the current year was approved.

The members of the Confederal Committee of CNSM examined and made proposals to the Activity Plan of the National Commission for Consultations and Collective Bargaining for the first semester of 2025. This topic will also be discussed today, January 30, at the meeting of the National Commission for Consultations and Collective Bargaining.

Another subject approved during the meeting of the Confederal Committee of CNSM concerned the approval of the list of entities that will be visited by the representatives of the Trade Union Labor Inspectorate during 2025.

Today, the members of the Confederal Committee of CNSM also discussed the situation at the state enterprise “Calea Ferata din Moldova,” where salary arrears have reached around 190 million lei. In connection with this issue, the Railway Trade Union Federation of the Republic of Moldova will organize protests on February 14 and 28 in front of the Parliament, Government, Presidency, and at all railway junctions.

It is important to note that the Confederal Committee is the governing body of the CNSM between the sessions of the General Council. The Confederal Committee of CNSM defines the Confederation’s positions on current national and international trade union issues; it carries out the resolutions and decisions of the Congress, the General Council, and elaborates concrete action plans.
