The Confederal Committee of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) convened in a regular meeting on Monday, March 16. The agenda included several topics of major importance for the Confederation’s activity.

In this context, the CNSM Confederal Committee adopted the decision to convene a meeting of the CNSM General Council on May 22, 2026, at the Trade Union Institute. The meeting will address issues related to changes in the composition of the General Council, the convening of the 5th CNSM Congress, as well as other matters concerning the Confederation’s activity.

During the same meeting, the Committee approved the official launch of the campaign to assess trade unionization potential, titled “Together – Shield and Voice!”, scheduled for March 24, 2026, at the Palace of the Republic. The event will be held in conjunction with a festive occasion dedicated to Grassroots Trade Union Organizations Day. The program will include an exhibition of local producers, the campaign launch, a gala honouring CNSM territorial representatives, and other activities.

In preparation for marking the World Day for Safety and Health at Work (April 28, 2026), the Confederal Committee decided to organize a roundtable discussion dedicated to this occasion. National sectoral trade union centers will carry out awareness-raising activities for employers and employees on the importance of ensuring a safe working environment and complying with occupational safety and health requirements.

In the same context, the Confederal Committee approved the provision of financial assistance to the family of the late Vadim Munteanu, who was employed as a mechanic in the mechanical repair workshop of the Municipal Enterprise “Electric Transport Authority” in Chișinău and lost his life in a workplace accident in 2025.

It should be noted that the Confederal Committee is the governing body of CNSM between meetings of the General Council. It defines the Confederation’s positions on current national and international trade union issues and ensures the implementation of resolutions and decisions adopted by the Congress and the General Council.
