On August 28, at Arena Chișinău, representatives of the Youth Commission of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) participated in the Moldova Youth Forum 2025, an event dedicated to dialogue, civic engagement, and the development of young leaders. During the forum, trade unionists conducted an information and awareness campaign for participants regarding the role and importance of trade unions in defending the rights of young people.
The young trade unionists addressed the major challenges faced by the younger generation and proposed initiatives to promote decent work, strengthen social rights, and encourage active involvement in decision-making processes.
Present at the event, Lilia Franț, Vice President of CNSM, emphasized the importance of the Youth Commission members’ participation in youth-oriented activities, including events organized by other institutions, noting that this allows trade union values and messages to be promoted more effectively.
At the CNSM stand, forum visitors had access to informational materials regarding labor rights and constitutional guarantees, provisions of the International Labour Organization conventions, the rights of young people and vulnerable groups in the labor market, workplace safety and health, as well as the benefits of trade union membership.
The participation of young trade unionists in this forum holds special significance. The event provided an opportunity to amplify the voice of young trade union members, promote the values of solidarity and social equity, and contribute to identifying solutions for the challenges faced by the younger generation. At the same time, the forum created premises for strengthening partnerships with other civil society actors.
The Moldova Youth Forum is one of the most important national platforms dedicated to young leaders in the Republic of Moldova. Launched in 2022, the forum annually brings together active young people from all regions of the country to discuss key issues of interest to youth – from education, digitalization, and civic participation to the future of the Republic of Moldova in the European Union.
