After an extensive process of consultations and negotiations, representatives of the Trade Union Federation of Education and Science of Moldova (FSES) and the Ministry of Education and Research signed, on August 20, the Collective Agreement at branch level in the fields of education and research for the years 2025–2030.

The signing of the Collective Agreement in the fields of education and research for 2025–2030 represents an important step towards strengthening social partnership and protecting the rights of employees, trade union members working in these two sectors.

According to FSES, the new Collective Agreement establishes the rights and obligations of the parties, ensuring a fair framework for labor relations in educational and research institutions affiliated with FSES. Among the key aspects included are:

  • regulations regarding employment relationships;
  • working time and rest periods;
  • work standards and remuneration;
  • working conditions and occupational safety;
  • ensuring conditions for the activity of trade union bodies.

The Agreement also includes annexes related to the duration of leaves, the list of professions with extended working hours, as well as jobs and workplaces with special conditions for which compensatory allowances are established.

By signing this Agreement, significant support is provided for the negotiation and conclusion of collective labor agreements at the enterprise level. The document comes into force on the date of signing, from which moment the Collective Agreements valid for 2021–2025 cease to be effective.

The Agreement will be distributed to educational institutions and trade union bodies at all levels, published in Monitorul Oficial (the official gazette) of the Republic of Moldova, and made available on the websites of the Trade Union Federation of Education and Science and the Ministry of Education and Research.
