During his working visit to Austria, Igor Zubcu, President of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM), held an official meeting with Korinna Schumann, Federal Minister of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection of Austria.
They discussed issues related to strengthening social dialogue, protecting workers’ rights, combating informal employment, and promoting European standards in the field of labor. The importance of international cooperation between trade union structures and national authorities to address current labor market challenges was also emphasized.
The CNSM President highlighted the reforms being promoted in the Republic of Moldova in the labor sector, as well as the trade union movement’s efforts to implement the principles of a new social contract.
In turn, Korinna Schumann expressed openness to intensifying bilateral cooperation and emphasized Austria’s support for the modernization processes of the social and economic framework in the Republic of Moldova.
This meeting reaffirms CNSM’s commitment to strengthening relationships with international partners and promoting a European social model based on fairness, dialogue, and solidarity.
