The official signing ceremony for the new Decent Work Country Programme for 2025–2027 for Republic of Moldova took place at the International Labour Organization (ILO) headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The event marks an important step in strengthening Moldova’s commitment to promoting decent work, social dialogue and social justice.

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the social partners in the Republic of Moldova on the new Decent Work Country Programme for 2025–2027 took place in the presence of ILO representatives. The event was opened by Beate Andrees, ILO Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, who delivered a welcome message to the participants.

The Memorandum of Understanding on the new Decent Work Country Programme for 2025–2027 was signed by Igor Zubcu, President of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova, Leonid Cerescu, President of the National Employers’ Confederation of the Republic of Moldova, and Alexei Buzu, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova.

This strengthened partnership reflects the joint efforts of the parties involved to respond to the current challenges of the labour market and prepare the country for the opportunities of the future of work, in the context of the Republic of Moldova’s candidate status for accession to the European Union.

In his address, Igor Zubcu, President of the CNSM, underlined the importance of this document as a participatory strategic framework, developed in collaboration with social partners and ILO specialists. The President of the CNSM thanked all those involved in the development of the Programme and expressed his confidence that it will bring tangible results for the country’s citizens.

‘Our signature today is a reconfirmation of our commitment to the values promoted by the International Labour Organization and to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,’ said the CNSM president.

The programme focuses on a number of key priorities, such as strengthening social dialogue at all levels, enhancing worker protection and strengthening employment policies, skills development and enterprise development.

The Decent Work Country Programme 2025–2027 represents a concrete step towards strengthening a fair, inclusive and sustainable labour market in the Republic of Moldova. Its ultimate goal is to provide citizens with decent and well-paid jobs, but also to increase productivity through strategic investments in the economy.
