Education and continuing trade union education and training is one of the priorities of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM), ensuring the comprehensive and multilateral training and further training, as well as the development of practical skills of trade union leaders and activists. Today, January 17, the members of the Educational Council of the CNSM held a meeting to evaluate the training process of trade union activists and to analyze other issues in the field.
The main topics discussed at the meeting were the assessment of the implementation of the Plan of Activities of the CNSM Educational Council for 2024 and the Plan of Activities of the CNSM Educational Council for the current year, the approval of the CNSM Plan in the field of trade union training and research for 2025, including the approval of trade union training programs.
CNSM President Igor Zubcu reiterated the importance of developing trade union training programs in line with the current needs, modern, dynamic, in accordance with the European rigor and standards in the given field, stressing the importance of continuous improvement of trade union trainers and the development of new educational programs that meet the needs and interests of trade union members.
During the meeting, Elena Anton, Head of the Organization, Education and Information Department of the CNSM, informed about the realization of the Plan of Activities of the CNSM Educational Council for 2024.
Thus, during the reporting period, the implementation of the educational project “Trade Union School of Moldova”, which has reached its 10th edition, was monitored. During 2024, assistance was provided to the national-rural trade union centers, 61 trainings were organized during the reporting period, which were attended by 2,823 trade union leaders, activists and members. Anton also informed about the further training of trade union trainers, educational activities organized during 2024 with the support of the Danish Trade Union Development Agency.
The members of the Education Council of the CNSM examined and approved the Plan of the Confederation in the field of trade union training and research for 2025, which envisages a number of educational activities, aimed at contributing to the educational, research, trade union and vocational training goals, in order to realize the CNSM Strategy for 2022-2027.
The meeting also examined the concept of the project “The importance of first aid in the protection and safety of employees at work”, developed by the Labor Institute, the objectives of which are: to strengthen the knowledge of trainees in order to maintain a safe and healthy workplace; to develop the skills and abilities necessary to provide first aid in case of injury at work; to exchange best practices of training participants; to increase the visibility of the contribution of trade union structures in ensuring a safe and healthy working environment.
The basic tasks of the Education Council of the CNSM are to develop and submit for approval to the governing bodies of the CNSM the strategy of trade unions in the field of education, the realization of the single policy of trade union bodies in this field of activity, as well as the development of the educational system of the trade union movement in the Republic of Moldova.
