Igor Zubcu, president of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM), had a meeting with Guy Ryder, General Director of the International Labor Organization (ILO). The meeting, which took place in Geneva, Switzerland, was also attended by Sergiu Sainciuc, Vice-President of CNSM, Maria Helena André, Director of ILO -ACTRAV, and Sergejus Glovackas, Director of the ILO-ACTRAV Bureau for Europe and Central Asia.

The parties discussed the situation in the field of social partnership in the Republic of Moldova and the developments in the negotiation process, the social-economic situation in the country and the actions of the social partners in order to support the population affected by the economic crisis, the provisions of the new country program on decent work, concluded between the ILO and the Republic of Moldova for the years 2021-2024 in October 2021.

Also, the CNSM leadership informed about the compliance with international labor standards and the shortcomings in this process, the contribution of the trade unions to the management of the refugee crisis in Ukraine, which provided accommodation at the sanatoriums managed by CNSM and the necessary assistance.

The CNSM leadership expressed gratitude for the support offered by the International Labor Organization in managing the Ukrainian refugee crisis, implementing several important projects aimed at strengthening the social partnership at national and territorial level.

Guy Ryder, Director General of the International Labor Organization, praised the efforts of trade unions, civil society as a whole, and authorities in dealing with the refugee crisis. Guy Ryder was open to further develop cooperation relations with trade unions in the Republic of Moldova in the field of social partnership, ratification and implementation of ILO conventions and compliance with international labor standards.

In this context, those present discussed the signing in the near future, in Chisinau, of the Memorandum of Cooperation between CNSM and ILO-ACTRAV, which includes several priorities and an action plan for the years 2022-2023. These priorities include, inter alia, the adoption of a simplified out-of-court mechanism for resolving individual labor disputes, ensuring the effective enforcement of trade union rights, the ratification of ILO Conventions Nr. 102 and 173 and the implementation of ILO Convention Nr. 161, promoting social dialogue at all levels, the digitalization of services for trade union members.

We remind you that on June 5-10, Igor Zubcu, president of CNSM, and Sergiu Sainciuc, vice-president of CNSM, participates at the 110th session of the International Labor Conference organized by ILO in Geneva, Switzerland. The Conference discussed several reports on the world of work, respect for labor rights in different regions of the world, recommendations on decent work, safety and health at work, the future of work.

During the visit to Geneva, the CNSM leadership met with Heinz Koller, Director for Europe of the International Labor Organization, Luca Visentini, General Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation, and presented a speech from the central rostrum of the 110th session of the International Labor Conference.
